I have one of these not so new joysticks. Does anybody know how to get this thing to go under WIN2000 Pro? It is the model that connects to the gameport as well as through the keyboard. There are also.

F-16 TQS THROTTLE 4-WAY RADIO SWITCH, 2 HAT SWITCHES, 2 DIALS. Part Number: 0030001TQS General. Country Kits n/a Localization English Manufacturer. Guillemot Corp. Package Type retail Type Drivers & Utilities Service & Support. Type 1 year warranty System Requirements. OS Required Microsoft Windows 95/98 Header. Brand ThrustMaster.

I have contacted Thrustmaster, and this was there response 'Unfortunately, this product is discontinued and older than its own warranty, making it an obsolete product for which we can no longer offer support. This includes installation and general troubleshooting issues, part replacement and repairs. I apologize for the inconvenience.' Also the product has been superceeded with a USB version. It is working perfectly in Win98, surely there must be a way to get it to go in WIN2000:-).

And is the homebase for info about the AIC project (Aircore and Indicator Controller) and Force Controller. I have made a pcb for Uri_ba's great TQS adapter. This will turn your Cougar throttle into a DX.

The stick will still work, you simply can't actually do the download from Win2K/WinXP. They won't let the downloader talk to the keyboard port. There are some options, though. You can dual-boot to Win98, do the download, and boot back to XP and it will probably work (the new keyboard ports aren't always compatible).

You can put the old TM DOS loaders on a DOS Boot Floppy, boot that, do the download, and restart XP. Basically the same deal, but you don't need to carry around a W98 partition on the hard drive. You'll need the so-called 'Pentium II' (sometimes called 'Pentium III' patches) for the faster machine.

It's just replacements for B50Load and B50Cal that won't crash when you run them on faster machines. Depending on what you fly, the newer sims let you assign keystrokes in the sim. Get one download into the FLCS that puts an 'a' on TG1, a 'b' on S2, etc. A sort of generic map. Then just assign the 'a', 'b', etc in the sim to do what you want that button to do. If you only fly a few sims and they allow the mapping, you may not need to download at all.

If none of those are suitable for you and you really want to make it work, I make a set of replacement chips and drivers that you can buy. The drivers are on my website for XP. It's all been working fine for the most port you can find some reviews around the 'net if you look. Anyway, they let you download from within XP. They also turn the FLCS into a 6-axis/32-button/POV Windows joystick so in things like Flight Sim, you can just use the FLCS/TQS directly. Anyway, drop by my site and look on the 'Links' page for the link to James Hallows FAQ.

It's got most of the info on the standard stuff. He's also got the Pentium patches posted if you need those. Hope this helps!
