I think the reason most hate it is the reason I love it - people love to bash the vocalist, but I think his voice is really great. The lyrics certainly leave something to be desired in terms of the heavy handed metaphors and the 'painfully blatant socio-political dilettantism', but for me that doesn't take much away from the melodies and the catchiness of it all - I was singing songs from this album for at least a year haha. I don't know what to say, really - I thought it was a thoroughly catchy, well structured album with some really nice instrumentation. Nathan Ells was my favorite vocalist back when this album was released. He received such little credit for what he brought to the table.

I've long accepted that people hate this album, but it's my favorite of the 3. People went in expecting another Nocturne which completely shattered their hopes, which is why I believe Midheaven suffered such harsh criticisms. It's not perfect by any means, but it definitely has it's place in their discography. My biggest complaint with the album is the mix.
